Latest News - October 2011

Our recent commissions include:

connect4change

SRC is working in partnership with two of the region’s leading voluntary sector providers, Voices and Adapt, to commission, provide and manage Northumberland County Council -funded support services of just under £1 million to the community and voluntary sector over the next three years. This is the first time support services for the community and voluntary sector have been outsourced by a local authority in the region. It is a particularly exciting development for us, which opens up a completely new strand of work for the company and one which we hope to be able to replicate elsewhere.

Glasgow Housing Association

Working for Campbell Tickell researching good practice in current approaches to resident and community engagement in the governance of large scale voluntary stock transfers in England to inform GHA’s review of its own governance arrangements.

North Star Housing Group

Reviewing the potential for community investment in 14 neighbourhoods across Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire, advising on internal restructuring and key appointments; developing a strategic community investment and action plan.

Sustrans

A national review of ‘Bike It’, one of Sustrans major cycling to school initiatives, involving interviews with 50 schools, parents and Sustrans staff and the production of a report for publication.

Northumberland County Council

Research and development of a web-based guide to Community Engagement, Empowerment and Development, called ‘Let’s Do It’.

Welcome

Welcome to Social Regeneration Consultants. SRC is a consultancy specialising in community and neighbourhood regeneration. From our base in north-east England, we work across the UK on a wide variety of projects and programmes. It's always interesting to know where organisations came from and what makes them tick. You can find out more about who we are and why on the Our Story pages.

We have five main specialisms - community engagement, urban masterplanning, neighbourhood management, social research and evaluation, and training/support. Find out more about what we can offer you on the Our Services pages.

We have a strong, dynamic and highly experienced team at SRC - some of us have been involved in urban regeneration for more than 30 years; others are much younger, fresher and bursting with new ideas. You can find out all about us on the Our Team pages.

SRC has 12 publications to its name. Our latest is called Successful Neighbourhoods - A Good Practice Guide, published by the Chartered Institute of Housing in June 2007. You can find out more about all our publications and how to download or order them on the Our Publications pages.

This is an interactive web-site. If you live in a neighbourhood where we're working, take a look at the Our Projects pages. You could complete an online opinion survey.

We really value feedback on all our work. We'd like to know what you think of our website and how it could be improved. You can use the Contacts page to drop us an email or give us a ring. We're always keen to talk.
