SRC and Shared Intelligence worked with Northumberland County Council in the run up to them becoming a single tier authority in April 2009. SRC worked alongside Shared Intelligence to provide organisational, logistical and coordination support to Council officers involved in this highly complex governance reorganisation to ensure that this rolling programme of consultation and development ran smoothly.

An options assessment and initial business planning work on the potential for a new race equality body in Tyne and Wear.  The research built on previous studies and looked at whether there was a current need for a body or bodies addressing race equality and, if so, the options that might be realistic.  The options considered key issues, such as the breadth of the equalities agenda which a body or bodies might cover, at what geographical level it would be delivered and the range of roles (or services) which could be delivered. The research made recommendations for the best way forward for race equality in Tyne and Wear.
